High School Programs

Summer Science Research Program (Offered July-August)
Hofstra University's Summer Science Research Program offers high school students opportunities in science research under the guidance of professionals in science and mathematics. Now in its eighth year, this program provides selected research-oriented high school students the opportunity to work with our science faculty during the summer in an on campus research program. The program culminates with a science "poster session" in early Fall where students display the work they performed during the summer. The poster session is open to all students in the program and their teachers. Students will be selected for this program on the basis of their high school science experience, a personal interview and, above all, the high school teacher's recommendation.
Science teachers interested in the program are encouraged to come tour our facilities and meet the participating research professors from Hofstra's faculty. Please call the Hofstra Chemistry Department at 516.463.5534 or e-mail Dr. Nanette Wachter to respond to this invitation.
