Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Campus Status:

All administrative and academic offices are closed. All students, except those enrolled in summer session classes, moved out of the residence halls as of May 15, 2020.

Essential services remain open, including limited dining options. The Fitness Center, Swim Center and Indoor Practice Facility are closed. Non-essential personnel continue to work from home. Check the event calendar for virtual events throughout the summer.

MASKS ARE REQUIRED IN ALL INDOOR SPACES ON CAMPUS, AND ANY OUTDOOR AREA WHEN SIX FEET OF SOCIAL DISTANCE CANNOT BE MAINTAINED.

The University has begun to plan for a fall semester on campus, in accordance with public health guidelines and deadlines. The Task Force on Reopening is developing protocols for all aspects of campus life and will communicate regularly with the campus community throughout the summer as these plans take shape.

We expect to send out Fall 2020 housing assignment letters sometime in June.

Summer Session I (May 20-June 24) and Summer Session 2 (June 25-July30) will be conducted online. Most course offerings for Summer Session III (Aug. 3-21) are expected to be online, but there may be some in-person classes, depending on public health guidelines at the time, available in a special session starting during July and going through August. See hofstra.edu/summer for more information.

For members of the Hofstra community dealing with stress, there are resources available. Students can contact  The Student Health and Counseling Center (SHACC) or International Student Affairs (ISA). Faculty and staff can use the University’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for short-term confidential counseling at 800-999-7222.
