PROVOST’S OFFICE
Mission
The Center for University Advising (CUA) partners with undergraduate students to develop goals, understand degree requirements, and make informed decisions about their academics. CUA empowers students with the knowledge, resources, and ability to take ownership of their academic endeavors. CUA takes a holistic approach to advising, considering all aspects of a student’s academic and professional development.
Dual Advising at Hofstra
All undergraduate students are assigned an advisor in the Center for University Advising to serve as their general academic advisor. Once students declare a major, they will be assigned to a faculty advisor within their academic department and should contact their faculty advisor for major-related advising concerns. Throughout their journey at Hofstra, students can rely on both their advisors in CUA and their faculty advisors to provide support for their academic endeavors.
