Middle States Commission on Higher Education Accrediting Process

About Accreditation

Hofstra University is initiating a comprehensive Self-Study, a process required by our accreditor, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), to reaffirm our commitment to educational excellence. Far more than a regulatory requirement, this collaborative effort serves as a vital reflection on our mission and the aspirations outlined in our Hofstra 100 strategic plan.

Over the next two years, our community will come together to assess progress across Hofstra 100 priority areas, including student success, interdisciplinary programs, community engagement, research growth, and strengthening our agility.

By engaging in this transparent, data-informed review culminating in a 2027 report, we ensure that as we prepare students for a rapidly changing world and careers that have not yet been invented, our growth remains grounded in evidence and deeply connected to our values.
