Why Is Hofstra Participating?
Your story is part of Hofstra’s history. Through this Oral History Project, we are:
- Preserving alumni memories and experiences
- Strengthening our alumni records by verifying contact information
- Creating a commemorative publication celebrating Hofstra alumni
- Supporting alumni engagement efforts
Participation is completely voluntary — but your voice helps tell the story of our university.
What Kinds of Stories Can I Share?
There is no single “right” story. We invite you to reflect on the moments, people, and experiences that shaped your time at Hofstra and your life beyond it.
You might consider sharing:
- Your involvement in Hofstra Athletics — as a student-athlete, fan, or supporter
- A professor, mentor, or advisor who made a lasting impact
- Lifelong friendships or meaningful campus experiences
- Academic programs, research, internships, or study abroad experiences
- Your journey as a first-generation college student
- Your experience as an international student
- Leadership roles, clubs, Greek life, or campus traditions
- Career paths and how Hofstra prepared you for life after graduation
- Challenges you overcame and lessons you learned
- How Hofstra shaped your values, identity, or sense of purpose
Whether your story is humorous, heartfelt, transformational, or reflective, it contributes to the rich and diverse history of our Hofstra community.
