STUDENT LEADERSHIP & ENGAGEMENT

COMMUTING STUDENT SERVICES

Your Campus. Your Community. Your Hofstra Experience

Whether you travel five minutes or fifty miles to campus, you are an important part of the Hofstra community.

Commuting Student Services, part of the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement, supports undergraduate commuter and off-campus students throughout their Hofstra experience. Through programs, resources, campus spaces, peer connections, and involvement opportunities, we help commuting students build connections, find community, and make the most of their time at Hofstra.

Whether you are looking for a place to relax between classes, hoping to meet other students, interested in getting involved, or simply have a question about commuter life, we’re here to help.

We’re Here to Help

Have a question, idea, or suggestion about the commuter student experience?

Visit us in Room 244 of the Mack Student Center or email commuters@hofstra.edu.

We want commuter students to feel connected, supported, and fully part of the Hofstra community, and we want to hear from you about how we can make the commuter experience even better.

Commuter Student Lockers

Need a place to store your belongings while you’re on campus? Free lockers are available to commuter students on the second floor of the Mack Student Center.

Locker applications open during the first academic week of each semester and are available to currently registered commuter students. Because lockers are assigned on a semester-by-semester basis, students must submit a new form each academic year.

Students selected to receive a locker will be notified by email with instructions for their locker assignment through the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement.

  • Locker assignments are valid for one academic year.
  • Students do not need to reapply between the fall and spring semesters of the same academic year.
  • Students must submit a new application if they would like a locker for the following academic year.
  • All belongings must be removed from lockers no later than the last day of final exams.
  • Any items remaining after the deadline will be removed and discarded, and locks may be cut as part of the semester clean-out process.
  • Students may only use the locker specifically assigned to them.
  • Students are responsible for providing and maintaining their own lock.
  • Students are responsible for all personal belongings stored in their locker.
  • Lockers should be kept clean and used appropriately throughout the academic year.
  • Students should not store prohibited, hazardous, illegal, or perishable items in lockers.

Commuter student lockers are intended for eligible undergraduate commuter students. Law and medical graduate students have separate locker resources available within their respective academic buildings and should contact their school for additional information.
