I am honored to have been serving Hofstra students and their families for eight years. Before coming to Hofstra's Division of Student Affairs, I was the assistant director of academic affairs and special programs at Columbia University. I am convinced that families are our essential partners as we guide students in their academic and personal growth.
I welcome calls and emails from family members of Hofstra students. No question is too small or unimportant. We also welcome Hofstra students' input and involvement in the programming for the family events, such as sibling's day, parent orientation and family weekend. Just email me at parents[at]hofstra.edu or call 516-463-7055.
For my Master of Arts degree in instructional technology and media from Teachers College, Columbia University, I researched how technology may help (or not help) learning. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Queens College. At Hofstra, I continue to be engaged in the Phi Beta Kappa Society and feel blessed to be learning daily from our exceptional student and faculty scholars.
The international and first-generation students hold a special place in my heart, since I was one, too. I invite any student or family member to come by my office for a cup of tea or coffee or just to chat. We will probably talk about Jones Beach, my favorite place in the world, and I will show you my shell collection. Another reason to come: on my walls, you will see some magnificent archival prints from Hofstra's history.×
I am proud to be a double alumna of Hofstra University, receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Early/Childhood Elementary Education and my Masters of Science in Special Education. Previously, I was the graduate assistant for Off-Campus Living and Commuting Student Services. I am honored to remain in the Pride by serving Hofstra parents and families in this role.
As the assistant director for Parent and Family Programs, I aim to be a resource for all Hofstra parents and families. I hope to engage families through various events and communication throughout the year. I strive to work together with parents and families to best support our students to succeed and to celebrate in their achievements.
Hofstra Parents, Hofstra Pride!
When I am not serving parents and families in 200 Phillips Hall, I enjoy working out and traveling. I have lived in several states including Maryland, New Mexico, Virginia, and I now reside in New York. I love to travel and take every opportunity to immerse myself in new situations and cultures.×
