The Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs is the chief academic officer of the University. The Provost's Office carries out academic policies of the faculty and President, all in support of enhancing student success.

About the Provost's Office
The Provost is responsible for the smooth operation of the academic units of the University including all of the University's Schools and Colleges as well as the libraries of the University, with the exception of the medical school which reports directly to the president’s office. The Provost also chairs the University Senate, which is the major University shared governance organization.
