STUDENT LEADERSHIP & ENGAGEMENT

FRATERNITY & SORORITY LIFE

Fraternity and sorority life has been an important part of the Hofstra undergraduate experience since the University’s founding in 1935. Our continued commitment to this community reflects the meaningful opportunities these organizations offer for intellectual, cultural, and personal growth.

Each chapter is built on shared principles of scholarship, leadership, service, and belonging—values that guide members in all they do. Hofstra believes that a community grounded in these ideals helps students grow as leaders, succeed academically, and build lasting connections with peers and alumni.

Equal Opportunity

Fraternities and sororities provide opportunities for individuals to learn to respect the rights, values, and beliefs of others. Students from diverse cultures as well as varying religious and socioeconomic backgrounds are encouraged to participate in the fraternity and sorority system. Activities and programs designed to promote the understanding and acceptance of diverse populations are a critical part of the fraternity and sorority experience. In accordance with the Mission of Hofstra University, the Fraternity & Sorority Life at Hofstra will offer equal opportunity for the participation of any individual, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, physical handicap, age, or sexual orientation.
