HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY

OFFICE OF EQUITY AND INCLUSION

Mission

The Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) works to drive an equitable and inclusive culture for students, faculty, and staff. We aim to educate, advocate, engage, and empower the Hofstra community by cultivating partnerships and resources to create and sustain a diverse culture of belonging. Leveraging diversity across all spectrums is how we all achieve success.

Goals

  1. Identify and implement specific initiatives, resources, strategies, policies, and practices that promote an inclusive campus and community environment.
  2. To promote the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion and ensure that they are embedded in the framework of the institution’s vision and mission.

The Inaugural Hofstra IMPACT Awards

The Hofstra IMPACT Awards recognize and celebrate members of the campus community (individuals, organizations, office units, or academic units) whose leadership, service, scholarship, and advocacy foster an inclusive, equitable, and thriving university environment. Grounded in intentional action and innovation, the awards honor those who create meaningful opportunities for access, belonging, and academic excellence.
